These little arrangements are done in an oriole’s nest.

It was built around a Poplar branch, attached by threads and string. Oriole nests are like sacs that hang down off of trees. This one is composed of the most ingenious materials: dental floss, fishing line, twine, yarn, bits of plant material and plastic, woven into something remarkably strong and flexible.

Next time I cut my hair, I’m going to leave the clippings out for the the orioles.
